Dizziness

Dizziness is one of the most common symptoms for which adults visit their doctor. Dizziness is often used to describe a range of sensations, such as feeling faint, woozy, weak, or unsteady. Dizziness that creates the false sense that you or your surroundings are spinning or moving is called Vertigo.

Possible causes of dizziness include:

  • Heart muscle disease
  • Motion sickness
  • Dehydration
  • Excessive exercise
  • Heat stroke
  • Ear infection
  • Anemia
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Sudden drop in blood pressure
  • Decrease in blood volume
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Stroke
  • Malignant tumor
  • Brain disorders

 

Contact your doctor if your dizziness is sudden, recurrent, severe, or long-lasting.
