Multiple Sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and the body. MS affects the brain and spinal cord. Early MS symptoms include weakness, tingling, numbness, and blurred vision. Additional signs are muscle stiffness, thinking problems, and urinary problems. Treatment can often relieve MS symptoms and delay disease progression.
People with MS discover their first symptoms between the ages of 20 and 40. It is important to keep track of your symptoms to help us monitor the course of disease and its progression as well as effectiveness of treatment.
There is no single test for MS. We use medical history, physical exams, Neurological exams, MRI and other tests to diagnose the condition. As of right now, there is no cure for MS, but treatment may help relieve symptoms and also delay the progression of the disease.
Here at Centennial Neurology we understand Multiple Sclerosis and specialize in caring for patients with this condition. We evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with Multiple Sclerosis.
